Coalition destroys weapons shipment to militias on Yemen Island

:: Sources of the Yemeni military confirmed that the Arab coalition destroyed weapons shipment for the militants through several raids on Thursday on the island of Kamran off the port of Salifi Hodeidah in western Yemen.

The sources mentioned that the weapons that had been destroyed had been smuggled in fishing boats by sea to the headquarters of the militias dedicated for smuggling on Kamran Island opposite to the coast of the city of Hodeidah.

According to Yemeni army sources, the coalition forces spotted the shipment, and its fighters carried out precise and accurate raids, and completely destroyed it, after it was stored on the island.

The Yemeni Chief of Staff, Major General Mohammad Ali al-Maqdashi, praised the “strong and effective role of the Arab alliance led by Saudi Arabia and UAE in the battles against the coup and the progress of the national army on various fronts.”

The official Yemeni news agency quoted al-Maqdashi as saying during an inspection visit to a number of fighting fronts in Al-Jouf province north east Yemen.

“The fighting forces in Al-Jawf have managed to liberate vast areas of the province and drive the enemy towards Saada,” the stronghold of the Houthi coup, Pointing out that “the province of Saada will have a date soon with the return of the state and its institutions and its national army.”
