A course on understanding Qur’an and prayers was held recently at the Grand Mosque in Makkah.

The course, which imparted the easy way of understanding Qur’an and prayers, was conducted by Qur’an Academy with the permission of Sheikh Abdul Rahman Al-Sudais, chief of the Presidency of the Two Holy Mosques.

The sessions started on 5th Dul Hijjah 1436H and ended on 3rd Muharram 1437H.

Before the Haj rituals, the sessions were conducted in an allotted hall at Masa area (between Safa and Marwa) and after Haj it was conducted in another specific hall near the Department of Qur’an. These sessions of teaching were conducted under the supervision of the department of Qur’an at the Holy Mosque.

During the 25-day period, regular sessions were conducted in which the meaning of Surah Al-Fatiha was taught in a unique and effective way to extract the daily guidance from prayers. It was demonstrated as to how one can make prayers meaningful, with understanding and make them effective with submission and reverence.

The vision of the academy was also explained, which is how every Muslim establishes his relation with the Book of Allah, how he can recite Qur’an with understanding and start to act upon it.

Understand Qur’an Academy has developed an easy method using the most modern teaching techniques.

Hundreds of pilgrims benefited from these interactive sessions. Attendees acknowledged the need for such courses with modern teaching methods.

The Department of Qur’an acknowledged the efforts of the academy’s team and felicitated it. A similar gathering was organized in Jeddah to felicitate the entire team of the academy on Oct. 29.

“Indeed it is the mercy and help of Allah which gave our program success,” said Abdul Aziz Abdul Raheem, the academy’s director. He appreciated the efforts of the teachers and volunteers from the Jeddah chapter.

“The academy’s courses are taught in Jeddah at different centers and mosques,” said Arif Masood Siddiqui, an active volunteer at the academy.
