A major security exercise which concluded in Arar on Wednesday sends a clear message to those who intend to undermine the Kingdom’s security, said Deputy Crown Prince Mohammed bin Naif, second deputy premier and minister of interior.

Prince Muhammed, who officiated the conclusion of the drill in the northern border town, said the drill should be considered a warning to terrorists who want to destabilize the Kingdom.

“I have been following this mobilization exercise closely and I am happy over its success. It would strengthen the capabilities of our security forces and send a clear message to those who intend to undermine the Kingdom’s security,” said Prince Mohammed addressing the function.

More than 1,500 officers from various security agencies took part in the maneuvers that lasted 149 hours.

GCC Secretary-General Abdullatif Al-Zayani and directors general of border guards in GCC countries attended the event.

Prince Mohammed commended Saudi security officers for their dedicated efforts to defend the Kingdom’s security and stability and remembered those officers who sacrificed their lives while confronting terrorists and extremists.

“This joint exercise by the various security agencies is an advanced security move to strengthen their capabilities to deter criminal activity and protect the security of the Kingdom and its people including expatriates,” he said.

The minister later inspected the command and control center of the Border Guard at Jadeeda Arar.
