Saudi telecom networks set for top quality connectivity
The Saudi Telecom Company (STC) announced an extension to its partnership with Ericsson to transform, expand and upgrade its network in Saudi Arabia on the second day at the GITEX.
The partnership covers different areas aimed at catering to the high growth demand in Saudi Arabia for video and TV services. One service is to enable the launch of advanced high-speed mobile broadband technologies, providing high quality video delivery with superior experience.
Furthermore, STC and Ericsson will collaborate in testing and evolving advanced ICT technologies, with focus on areas of small cells, indoor systems, and software defined networking.
STC’s Senior Vice President for Technology, Operations and IT Khaled Biyari said: “At STC, we always, seek to offer best experience for customers. Partnering with Ericsson will support us to deliver high quality connectivity both indoors and outdoors while expanding coverage to rural areas in the Kingdom.”
Ericsson will establish an experience center, which will connect between academic knowledge and the ICT industry for which it will provide support in building special competencies in LTE, charging system, ESDP (Ericsson service delivery platform) and inventory software.
“We will also work jointly with Ericsson to develop and train our employees and students on technologies that already support STC’s business in Saudi Arabia aiming to fulfill the future demand for high calibers in the Saudi market,” said Biyari.
